If you have searched “dental implants cost NJ,” you have probably found a lot of vague answers and a few suspiciously low ones. Here is a straight explanation from a Maywood implant dentist: what a single implant, an implant bridge and a full-arch All-on-X typically cost in northern New Jersey in 2026, why the numbers vary so much, what insurance actually covers, and how to tell a fair quote from a cheap one.
In northern New Jersey in 2026, a single dental implant with abutment and crown typically costs $4,000–$7,000 all-in; an implant-supported bridge replacing three or four teeth runs about $8,000–$15,000; and a full-arch All-on-X bridge is generally $20,000–$35,000+ per arch. The wide ranges come from what is—and isn’t—included: imaging, extractions, bone grafting, sedation, the implant brand, custom versus stock parts, and the lab that makes your teeth.
At Spring Valley Dental Care & Implant Center in Maywood, Dr. John Mady, DDS, FAGD, AFAAID, places and restores implants himself and gives every patient one written, all-inclusive quote after a free consultation.
Typical dental implant costs in New Jersey (2026)
New Jersey—and Bergen County in particular—sits above the national average for dental fees, so national “average implant cost” articles tend to run low for our area. These are realistic all-inclusive ranges we see across northern New Jersey; your written quote will be specific to your case.
| Treatment | Typical NJ range (all-in) | What it replaces |
|---|---|---|
| Single implant + custom abutment + crown | $4,000 – $7,000 | One missing or failing tooth |
| Implant-supported bridge (2 implants, 3–4 teeth) | $8,000 – $15,000 | Several teeth in a row |
| Implant-retained snap-in overdenture (2–4 implants) | $6,000 – $15,000 per arch | A full arch, removable |
| All-on-X fixed full-arch bridge (4–6 implants) | $20,000 – $35,000+ per arch | A full arch, permanently fixed |
| Bone graft or sinus lift (when needed) | $500 – $3,000+ | Added when bone is insufficient |
Ranges reflect typical 2026 fees in northern New Jersey for quality, brand-name components and a U.S. lab. They are for orientation only; Spring Valley Dental Care quotes every case individually in writing.
What actually drives the price

- How many teeth, and where. One implant is simple math. A full arch involves extractions, four to six implants, a temporary bridge and a final bridge—far more chair time and materials.
- Your bone. If bone has shrunk after years without a tooth, a graft or sinus lift may be needed first. A 3D CBCT scan tells us before anything is quoted. All-on-X is often designed to avoid grafting by angling implants into stronger bone.
- The implant system. Research-backed brands cost more than unbranded discount implants—and have parts available decades from now. We use Hiossen, one of the most widely placed systems in the world.
- Custom vs. stock parts. A custom abutment shaped to your gum anatomy costs more than a one-size-fits-all stock connector, and it is the difference between healthy gums and chronic irritation.
- The lab and the material. A zirconia bridge from a U.S. lab (ours is Glidewell in California) costs more than acrylic from overseas. It also doesn’t fracture.
- Sedation. IV sedation adds a fee—but because Dr. Mady is licensed to administer it himself, you don’t pay a separate anesthesiology practice or wait months for a date. About IV sedation →
- One office or two. When a surgeon places the implant and a different dentist restores it, you pay two fees and manage two schedules. Here, one dentist does both.
What a fair implant quote should include
When you compare quotes from Bergen County implant offices, make sure each one covers the same things. A complete single-implant quote includes:
- 3D CBCT imaging and digital planning
- Extraction of the failing tooth, if needed
- The implant and its surgical placement
- A custom abutment (ask specifically)
- The final zirconia or ceramic crown, and the lab that makes it
- Sedation, if you want it
- All follow-up visits through delivery of the crown
- Any bone grafting, itemized so you can see it

Insurance, medical benefits and financing
A few years ago almost no dental plan covered implants. That has changed. Many PPO plans now cover a percentage of the implant, the abutment or the crown—usually up to the plan’s annual maximum—and some medical plans cover extractions, bone grafting or sedation when tooth loss is related to injury or disease.
Financing is how most patients make full-arch treatment work: a monthly payment instead of a lump sum, often with promotional interest-free periods for qualified applicants. Larger plans can also be staged—one arch first, or foundation work now and final teeth later. Payment plans → · Insurance we accept →
Why some implant quotes are so much lower
Every few months a patient brings us a quote from a high-volume implant center that is thousands less than anything else they have seen. Sometimes it is legitimate. Often, the savings come from things you can’t see:
- The price covers only the post. Abutment, crown, imaging and surgery are “extra.”
- Unbranded implants with little research and no guarantee that replacement parts will exist in ten years.
- Reused or re-sterilized components such as healing collars, which develop micro-abrasions that harbor bacteria.
- Stock abutments that don’t fit your anatomy and irritate the gums.
- Acrylic or low-grade zirconia teeth from an overseas lab that chip and crack.
- Rushing surgery into a mouth with untreated gum disease—implants placed into infection fail.
- Improper depth. One or two millimeters too shallow in thin gum tissue is the difference between a healthy implant and a failed one.
Implant vs. bridge vs. denture: the 10-year cost
The sticker price is only half the math. Bridges and dentures cost less up front but are usually replaced every 7–15 years, and a bridge requires grinding down two healthy neighboring teeth that may later need root canals or crowns of their own. An implant preserves bone and neighboring teeth and, with good care, can last a lifetime.
| Dental implant | Fixed bridge | Removable partial / denture | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up-front cost | Highest | Moderate | Lowest |
| Typical lifespan | 25+ years, often lifetime | 7–15 years | 5–10 years |
| Affects neighboring teeth | No | Yes—they are ground down | Clasps can wear them |
| Preserves jawbone | Yes | No | No |
| Chewing function | Near natural | Good | Limited |
