What does a cosmetic dentist in Maywood, NJ do?

A cosmetic dentist improves the color, shape, size and alignment of your teeth. At Spring Valley Dental Care in Maywood, NJ, Dr. John Mady, DDS, FAGD, uses porcelain veneers, tooth-colored bonding, professional whitening, same-day ceramic crowns and bridges to correct chipped, stained, worn, gapped or misshapen teeth—and full-mouth rehabilitation when several problems need fixing at once.

Every case starts with a digital scan and an honest conversation about what you want, what it costs and how long it takes. Most veneer and crown cases finish in two visits; whitening takes one.

Cosmetic treatments

Six ways we change what you see when you smile

Most patients need one or two of these—not all of them. Dr. Mady starts with the least invasive option that gets you the result you want.

Most popular

Porcelain veneers

Thin, custom ceramic shells bonded to the front of the teeth to correct color, chips, worn edges, small gaps and mild crowding. Color-matched to your face and your natural teeth, and typically finished in two visits.

One hour

Professional whitening

Philips Zoom in-office whitening brightens up to eight shades in about an hour. Custom take-home trays with professional-strength gel keep the result going. Whitening options →

Same day

Ceramic crowns

A crown restores a cracked, worn or heavily filled tooth to full strength and a natural look. With digital scanning and in-office milling, most crowns are designed, made and placed in a single visit.

Quick fix

Cosmetic bonding

Tooth-colored composite sculpted directly onto the tooth to repair a chip, close a small gap or reshape an uneven edge—usually in one appointment, with no lab and no waiting. Tooth-colored fillings →

Missing tooth

Bridges & implant crowns

Replace a missing tooth with a fixed bridge anchored to neighboring teeth, or a dental implant crown that stands on its own. Dr. Mady places and restores implants here in Maywood. Implant Center →

Complete

Smile makeover & full-mouth rehab

When several teeth are worn, broken or missing, we combine veneers, crowns, bridges and implants into one coordinated plan that rebuilds your bite and your smile. Full-mouth rehabilitation →

Real results

Treated in this office, by this dentist

Every case in our gallery was planned and finished at 930 Spring Valley Road—no stock photos, no borrowed results. Chipped and worn front teeth, dark old crowns, stained enamel and missing teeth, restored so they look like they belong to the person wearing them.

Bring a photo of a smile you like, or of your own smile from years ago. It is the fastest way for Dr. Mady to understand what you’re after.

How it works

From first visit to final smile

Cosmetic dentistry should not feel like a mystery. Here is what actually happens.

Consultation & digital scan

We photograph and scan your teeth (no impression trays), check the health of your gums and enamel, and listen to what bothers you about your smile.

Your options, in writing

Dr. Mady walks you through every reasonable option—from whitening alone to a full makeover—with the number of visits and the cost of each, so you decide with real information.

Preparation & temporaries

Teeth are gently shaped and scanned; temporaries protect them while our U.S. lab crafts your porcelain. Same-day crowns skip this step entirely. Sedation is available.

Placement & polish

We try in your new veneers or crowns, check the fit, bite and color in natural light, then bond and polish. You leave with care instructions and a follow-up visit on the books.

Why patients choose us

Cosmetic work done the way a careful dentist would want it done

Cosmetic dentistry is still dentistry. The prettiest veneer fails if the bite is wrong or the gum underneath is unhealthy. That is why every cosmetic plan here begins with an exam, not a sales pitch.

  • Honest options first. If whitening and one bonded tooth will get you there, that is what we recommend—even when a full set of veneers would cost more.
  • Digital from the start. An intraoral scanner replaces gooey molds, and 3D imaging shows what is happening under the surface before we touch a tooth.
  • Premium materials, U.S. lab. Zirconia and ceramic restorations from Glidewell Laboratories in California, with digital image sharing for a faster, more accurate fit.
  • Same-day crowns. Designed and milled in the office, so a cracked or worn tooth is restored in one visit instead of two.
  • In-house IV sedation. Dr. Mady is licensed to administer IV sedation, so anxious patients and large cases can be completed comfortably in a single appointment.
  • A practice since 1977. Family-owned for nearly fifty years. Our patients’ parents were patients here too.
Is it right for you?

Good candidates for cosmetic dentistry

You are likely a good candidate if your teeth and gums are healthy—or can be made healthy first—and you are bothered by any of the following:

  • Teeth that look yellow, gray or stained even after whitening strips
  • A chipped, cracked or worn-down front tooth
  • Small gaps, uneven edges or mild crowding you would rather not treat with braces
  • Old crowns or bonding that no longer match your other teeth
  • A “gummy” or uneven smile line
  • One or more missing teeth you have been hiding

Cavities, gum disease and heavy grinding are treated before cosmetic work begins, so your investment lasts. If you clench or grind, we will recommend a night guard to protect your new smile.

Cost & financing

What cosmetic dentistry costs in Maywood

Fees depend on the number of teeth and the treatment chosen. You receive a written estimate after your exam, before anything is scheduled. Whitening is the most affordable starting point; bonding, veneers and crowns are priced per tooth.

Crowns and bridges that restore a damaged tooth are often partly covered by insurance—we check your benefits before your visit. For elective work, CareCredit, Alphaeon and Cherry let you spread the cost into monthly payments.

Common questions

Questions patients ask us

Don’t see your question? Call us—a real person at our Maywood front desk will answer.

How much does cosmetic dentistry cost in Bergen County, NJ?
It depends on the treatment. Professional whitening is the most affordable place to start, cosmetic bonding is priced per tooth, and porcelain veneers or ceramic crowns are priced per tooth with the fee set after your exam. We give you a written quote before any work begins and offer CareCredit, Alphaeon and Cherry financing so treatment can be spread into monthly payments. Cosmetic work is usually not covered by dental insurance, but crowns that restore a damaged tooth often are, and we check your benefits for you.
Are porcelain veneers or crowns better for my smile?
Veneers cover only the front of a healthy tooth and are ideal for stains, chips, small gaps and worn edges. Crowns wrap the whole tooth and are the better choice when a tooth is cracked, heavily filled or has had a root canal. Dr. Mady will show you both options on your digital scan and explain which one protects your tooth for the long run.
How long do veneers last?
With normal care—brushing, flossing, checkups and a night guard if you grind—porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years or longer. Porcelain resists stains far better than natural enamel, so your color stays consistent.
Does cosmetic dentistry hurt?
Most cosmetic treatments are done with local anesthetic and feel similar to a filling. If you are anxious or want several teeth treated in one appointment, Dr. Mady is licensed to provide IV sedation in our office, so you can rest through the visit instead of scheduling a separate anesthesiologist.
Can you fix a chipped or gapped front tooth in one visit?
Often, yes. Tooth-colored composite bonding repairs small chips and closes minor gaps in a single appointment, and our in-office crown technology lets us design, mill and place a ceramic crown the same day when a tooth needs more protection.
Which teeth whitening works best—Zoom or take-home trays?
Philips Zoom in-office whitening lifts teeth up to eight shades in about an hour and is best when you want results before an event. Custom take-home trays whiten gradually over a couple of weeks and are easy to touch up. Many patients do both: Zoom first, trays to maintain. Read more about whitening.
Do I need to be a Maywood resident to be a patient?
No. We see cosmetic patients from Hackensack, Paramus, Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Saddle River, Franklin Lakes, Wyckoff, Oradell, Englewood, Tenafly and across Bergen County. Our office is right off Route 17 and Route 4 with free parking.
What if my teeth are too damaged for veneers?
When several teeth are worn, broken or missing, a combination of crowns, bridges, dental implants and veneers—called full-mouth rehabilitation—rebuilds both the look and the bite. Dr. Mady plans and performs implant placement, IV sedation and restoration in one office, so you are not referred around the county. Learn about full-mouth rehabilitation.
How do I get started?
Book a visit online or call (201) 843-3312. New patients can start with our free limited exam and X-ray or the $97 comprehensive exam, X-rays and cleaning—we’ll confirm eligibility when you schedule.
