Zoom is the whitening system patients ask for by name. Here is how a session at Spring Valley Dental Care goes:
- Shade check and exam. We record your starting shade and confirm your teeth and gums are healthy enough to whiten.
- Gum protection. Lips and gums are isolated with a protective barrier so only enamel is treated.
- Gel plus light. Professional-strength whitening gel is applied and activated with the Zoom LED lamp in 15-minute cycles, typically three or four.
- Done. Rinse, compare to your starting shade, and leave with aftercare instructions—and often a set of trays for touch-ups.
Expect a slight tingling or warmth during the session; that is the gel working. Avoid dark foods and drinks for 48 hours afterward while the enamel re-hydrates.

Does professional whitening hurt or damage teeth?
Professional whitening supervised by a dentist is safe for enamel. Some patients feel temporary sensitivity to cold during or after treatment; our gels include a desensitizing agent, and we can adjust concentration and timing. Sensitivity typically fades within a day or three.
How white will my teeth get?
Most patients gain several shades—up to eight with Zoom. Yellow stains from coffee, tea, wine and age respond best; gray stains from certain antibiotics or trauma respond less. Why not just use drugstore strips?

How long do results last?
