Does a cleaning hurt?
A routine cleaning should not hurt. If your gums are inflamed you may feel some tenderness, and if it has been a long time since your last visit we can numb the area. Tell your hygienist if anything is uncomfortable—we adjust, we don’t push through.
Do you take X-rays at every visit?
No. Digital bite-wing X-rays are typically taken once a year and a full series every three to five years, depending on your risk. Our digital sensors use about 90% less radiation than old film X-rays, and Pearl AI software helps Dr. Mady spot early decay between teeth that is easy to miss by eye.
Do you see children?

What is a deep cleaning, and do I need one?
A deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) treats gum disease by cleaning below the gum line where a regular cleaning can’t reach. Dr. Mady will recommend it only if your exam shows deep gum pockets, bleeding or bone loss. It is done with local anesthetic, usually over two visits, and often prevents tooth loss later.
